As of this moment, I have 11 days, 17 hours and 45 minutes until the MV Explorer pulls away from the shores of Halifax, Nova Scotia. One might ask if they are prepared for what they are about to see, encounter, and experience. Others may ask if they remembered to pack the sunscreen! However, everyone asks if they can come along too!!! I can truly answer yes to all three of those questions. I think I will be covered no matter what happens while abroad...I hope! I have purchased a different medicine to combat everything possible (ones that I have never taken in my life, but I will be able to make things happen and stop them from happening too...). I received a new camera from my mom and dad for my (early) birthday present! I purchased 2 extra camera batteries and have 12GB worth of memory cards, so I am 100% sure I can take millions of beautiful pictures. I finally set up my new cellphone for global internet access, email, and blackberry messenger. This means that I can use Google Translator to learn to speak Arabic, Turkish, and Italian at the click of a button. I think that this might be verrrrrry helpful! I have 4 types of sunscreen (I will try my best not to turn into a lobster...but I have packed plenty of aloe just in case!) and bug spray, so I won't get eaten alive. I have currency for all of the various countries, except Morocco. I feel rich when I have a bill in my hand with a 500 on it, but then I remember that it is not American money and it really is not worth a whole lot... Oh well, but the different currencies are really cool to look at! They are all different sizes and have all of the colors under the sun on them. It is really kinda cool! I also had a blast with Danielle last weekend! We stayed up all night long researching what there was to do in each country and making a spreadsheet of exciting places to visit, the best ways to get to those places (either by train, plane, or automobile), and where to sleep once we get there. It was really fun! We were so delirious that night...ok...let's have a quick commercial break for story time! While researching places to go in Italy, we stumbled across Venice. We began looking at pictures, what there was to do in Venice and then began looking at how to get there! This is where all h-e-double hockey sticks broke loose! All of the websites that we looked at were not translated into English! They were all in Italian... :( We were getting sooo upset at the stupid websites. All we wanted was to see if we could get from Rome to Venice. Pretty easy, right? WRONG!!! This lead to me saying, "O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Venice?" Okay...maybe you had to be there and delirious, but it became the theme for the whole weekend! Now back to Globe Trottin'! With all of this already done, I still have a looong list of things to do before I leave. I have to get my ears lowered, get an international power converter/adapter set, get a swimsuit, pick up more drugs from CVS, and last but not least...get all of my clothes packed up! I can't believe that I only have 9 days until I will be in HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA!!!!! What stinks is that my mom will get to see the ship before ME! Soooooooo not fair! Family members get to go onboard the MV Explorer the night before we leave to see the ship. I hope I have thought of everything... I am actually getting a little nervous now that it is getting sooo close! In just 11 days, I will be leaving solid ground and headed out to SEA...
